i saw a tweet hating on big carat twt accts because “all they care about is their aesthetic and not about telling others to stream” HUUUUHHHH maybe they just don’t care about streaming at all and literally these accts don’t even have an “aesthetic” to maintain, they’re just shitposting and being a normal fan 😭😭😭 and even with member update accts you’d see streaming accts trying to guilt trip the admins by saying “you have so many followers it’s a shame you don’t call on carats to stream” ……. it’s behavior i will never understand

the irony of it all is that those big accounts that just post regular memes/updates/funny tweets probably unintentionally do more to promote svt than any of those streaming or voting accounts do anyway. like while the direct goal of streaming/voting is to get more views or awards or to win a silly little poll, in the grand scheme of things the main goal is to bring more attention to the group. but i'd argue that a funny tweet going viral is more likely to bring in more fans than an account yelling at ppl who already stan the group that they're not a good enough fan or whatever

and i've talked about this before, but while streaming might make a difference in views, it's not by orders of magnitude. like the reason dwc has 200M views is not bc carats streamed extra hard that era, it's bc it became super popular among non-carat kpop stans. like at the end of the day what matters isn't the views or awards, what matters is how many ppl know the group and what they know about them. the reasons views and awards are talked about is bc it's one way to gauge how many ppl are paying attention to the group

but like even if all the streaming/voting did make a genuine difference, so what? being a fan isn't a job. the whole point of fandom is to have fun. it's an idol's/musician's job to entertain. and like yeah as fans we want our idols to do well, but why act like it's a crime that fans are just enjoying themselves and having fun and not spending every day stressing about numbers?

honestly i understand the mentality somewhat bc i went through a streaming phase back in the day. u get so focused on the numbers and the goal and u think about all the people that could be helping but aren't and it means you "have" to work harder, etc, etc. but at the end of the day it's just putting stress on yourself for basically no reason

like let the pledis/hybe staff worry about numbers and awards. they're the ones getting paid for it. we're here to have fun, so just let ppl have fun lol
